PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Knife crime and gang violence have been reported more frequently over the past couple of years. This project is aimed at individuals who are at risk of getting involved in that lifestyle. We want to allow you to develop your musical or dance talents.

This project will work with a selected number of individuals that will be given the support to develop over a 12-week project. Be it music or dance, you will be given 1-2-1 mentorship to develop your confidence and hone your skills.

What we will provide

  • Free studio time (ISE Recording Studio or iDream Dance Studio)
  • Free 1-2-1 mentoring
  • A development plan
  • An opportunity to build relationships across the participants
  • Discussions with ex-gang members and knife victims

Expected Outcome

  • A professionally recorded music or dance piece
  • Enhanced confidence
  • Developed skills
  • New friendships
  • An opportunity for leadership in the ECP Hub

  • Individuals at risk of knife or gang voilence

Empowering Creative People is a Youth focused (12-25year olds) community organisation operating in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. We aim to advance the education of the public (especially young people) in the art and science of music; in particular by the provision of access to good quality learning and development opportunities in arts, specifically in music and dance, whilst keeping youth inclusion and participation at the heart of what we do.
